Outreach
Welcome to Catherine McAuley ~ Outreach
Here are some wonderful examples of mercy in action throughout the year.

Centacare
Every week during winter our students make soup for Centacare.
Centacare Youth Service is a supported accommodation service for young homeless people aged 15-25.
Young people in our service often have limited support from family and have come to our service to work through issues that have led to them being homeless.
Some of the issues that clients present with are around financial hardship and they struggle to provide food for themselves and their family.
Due to limited funding Centacare Youth Service is not able to provide food assistance to clients and having the soup provided by the school allows us to give food to hungry clients.
Centacare Youth Service would like to thank everyone for the time and effort that goes into making the soup for their clients and the food that is provided towards it. -

Can Drive
Our students get very competitive as their House Teams try to collect the most cans for St Vincent de Paul. We regularly collect over 1000 cans which assist St Vincent de Paul in making up hampers for the disadvantaged.
-

Blanket Appeal
Our happy band of knitters include mothers, fathers and grandparents. Teaching students the basics of knitting squares for our blanket appeal brings out a wonderful community spirit.
-

Giving Tree
The spirit of Christmas lives across the campus with our tradition of a "GivingTree".
Gifts and food donations are left under our tree and are then presented top the Elizabeth branch of St Vincent de Paul.
They are then distributed during the Christmas season to those less fortunate.
-

Charities Week
The whole school participated in an old - fashioned fair to raise money for Charity. There were delicious food stalls and fun sideshows which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
-

Green and Brown Day
We combine our celebration of St Patrick and St Joseph by having a Green and Brown day and activities centred around the saints.

Celebrating the Canonisation of Mary MacKillop
Our old fashioned non-technology day reminded our students about how far Catholic Education has progressed from the time Mary MacKillop started her school in Penola.
