The central feature of the logo is a Cross. This Cross takes on the semblance of the shape of the outer edge of the Mercy Cross.
The curved lines in the logo is representative of the undulating surrounds in which the school is located and portray movement and growth.
Another feature in the logo are stalks of wheat which radiate from either side of the base of the cross to remind us that we walk alongside Christ.
Our Logo
Welcome to Catherine McAuley ~ Our Story
Catherine McAuley School Logo
Our school community works at continuing the Mercy tradition tradtion and our Vision and school logo reflect the Mercy keys and Catherine McAuley's values.
Our central feature of our logo is a Cross.
This Cross takes on the semblance of the shape of the outer edge of the Mercy Cross, appropriately so as Catherine McAuley was a Sister of this very Order of Nuns.
The Cross is also symbolic of Christ being at the very heart of our Christian faith. This is further emphasised through the use of a maroon colour blend that is so used as to present the cross as virtually glowing from it's centre. This serves as a reminder that as we Christians have the privilege to be bearers of this light.
Another feature that forms a significant aspect of our logo is that of Wheat.
Stalks of Wheat have been positioned to radiate from either side of the base of the cross, another gentle reminder that we walk alongside Christ.
The stalks have also been placed together so as to represent the fact that in our growth we are not alone but that we are part of a Christian community.
Wheat in itself carries much symbolism and is widely used to represent "The Bread of Life", nourishment not only souls through Eucharist, but also food in the physical sense.
Wheat however has to give itself or 'fall to the ground' in order for us to reap of it's benefits. We too as Christians are called to 'die to ourselves' so as to enable us to grow in a life of love and service to all around us.
This is especially symbolised by the two stalks of wheat at the base of the logo and the grain that has fallen.
Curved lines also form an important part of our logo and this is representative of the undulating surrounds in which the school is located. Apart from portraying movement and growth, these lines together with the wheat lend to the country-like atmosphere with the school.
After the design was complete the words Faith, Growth & Unity were added as an expression of our school as a community, each word having a number of reflections.
Faith, being a community of Faith and that we focus towards an Education in Faith.
Growth, as a new growing community and that the education of our students is an ongoing Growth process.
Unity, as we are a Christian Community united together and in unity with our Campus, Local and World Communities
