Sport
Welcome to Catherine McAuley ~ Sport
The Catherine McAuley School staff believe that regular participation in physical activity during childhood improves students’ learning, strengthens self-esteem, builds their understanding of teamwork and improves general physical activity and fitness levels.
Students are encouraged to practice sporting skills in games and activities during recess and lunch breaks.
Classes are provided with a range of sporting equipment and a number of staff members conduct sporting games during recess and lunch times.
As the children at Catherine McAuley School move through the middle and upper primary age group they are given opportunities to represent the school in full day sports carnivals.
Participation in these carnivals helps the students to develop valuable life skills such as cooperation, discipline, respect and sportsmanship.
Through our schools involvement in these sporting carnivals parents have been able to develop strong social networks and build a wonderful sense of community.
All students are allocated to a House Team when they begin at Catherine McAuley.
