Do we have to be Catholic to enrol?
Catherine McAuley School is a Catholic School in the Elizabeth parish.
We offer a Catholic education and welcome all faith communities. Parents are asked to uphold the Christian values that underpin our community.
How much are the school fees?
In the Tuition Fee information relating to current annual school fees are detailed. Variations are available via a 40% discount for families eligible for School Card. As the School Card Scheme processes and eligibility varies from year to year, it would be impossible to explain this here. A fee variation form also exists where unusual circumstances apply.
What happens if we cannot afford the school fees?
Our school welcomes discussion with you about options for payment. These are confidential and depend on the individual family circumstances.
What if my child is being bullied?
We believe everyone has a right to feel safe, happy and learn in a positive, successful learning environment. We aim to promote positive, trusting and respectful relationships while negotiating difference which develop healthy, confident and resilient individuals. Bullying and Harassment will not be tolerated. Your child will be encouraged to follow our plan where bullying is reported and dealt with appropriately. We have clear expectations and guidelines across the school.
How can I help out at school?
We would love all parents to be involved in their child’s education. There are a variety of options but regular volunteers do need to have a Catholic Police Clearance and participate in a Volunteers Induction program. Assisting in the classroom, at extra curricular events, helping to run support programs, and helping out with fund-raising are just some of the invaluable ways parents can be partners in their child’s learning.
Is there a waiting list to enrol my child?
Where the vacancies are almost fully taken up, a priority system is employed to fill remaining places.
What if my child is struggling at school?
Our dedicated staff will provide information to parents/caregivers about their child’s progress. Working together we will put appropriate plans in place to help your child.
How do we purchase the school uniform?
We offer a uniform shop at school that is open Tuesday 8.30-915 am and Wednesday 2.30-3.15 pm.
We are also able to organise phone orders for you. Our seconds uniforms are another option for families to keep up with their fast growing children.
Is before or after school care available?
We offer before and after school care as well as vacation care for busy families. Please contact the Out of Hours School Care staff on 82544198 for more information.
What high schools can my child go to?
Our students receive priority placement at our local colleges-St Columba, Xavier, St Patrick's, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Thomas More College, St Paul's and Gleeson College.
Does the school teach my child about the Sacraments?
We encourage parents to enrol their child in the sacramental programme offered at St.Thomas More Church.
Teachers support the sacramental programme through the Religious Education lessons and activities at school.
